I am a grade 12 student studying in Private International English School, Abu Dhabi. I strongly believe that the environment is a home to millions of species and humans are just one of them. It is thus our duty to preserve the treasure nature provides without asking for anything in return.

As I am passionate about protecting the environment, I am a part of the school Eco Club since 5 years. I have been a part of effective initiatives like paper recycling campaign, e-waste collection, plastic recycling campaign, no plastic rally and others. I have been a part of the air and water audit team as a part of Green School Audit. As a part of the team, I visited other schools to share and promote the eco-friendly practices at school. I have played an active role in the school organic garden. I was one of the organising members for the 'Food Sustainability and Security' webinar conducted in our school. I got the opportunity to represent our school and present the initiatives taken towards sustainable energy usage in a webinar conducted by British Petroleum. I also take part in events associated with Dr. Jane Goodall's Roots And Shoots and Connect With Nature. I have interned with the Energy Swaraj Foundation, which is based on the sustainable use of energy.

I am a passionate poet and orator and I take part in various events and competitions. I enjoy speaking, writing poetry and making paintings which express my feelings towards nature. I actively take part in Model United Nations and speak about the environment whenever I get an opportunity.

I strongly believe that it is the responsibility of today's youth to be the torchbearers and walk on the path that will lead us to a bright and secure future.
